We all know that a lot of bad luck happens in Mario Kart Wii. So, why not record a marathon session of it with the two unluckiest karters you know- you and your friend- and see what comes out? That’s what was going through my head when we started this. I now realize this was a horrible mistake because of that luck…

Welcome to the beginning of our Mario Kart Wii “Megacup,” consisting of 16 races at various tracks. It includes bad luck, blue shells, squished karts, horrible timing, and other various misfortunes, but in these two races, the most common things that happened to us were being squished by cars and trucks, transforming into flaming meteors, and yelling. A lot.

Since it can get annoying having to backtrack a few seconds every time you end up looking at the wrong screen and something happens on the other, followed by a yelp or complaint, I have chosen some moments where a certain screen should be given attention and highlighted its borders, so no more backtracking. There were a few times when I didn’t put a border in, but those were times when something happened on both screens at the same time or when something is just sort of common and not as hilarious.

First, I can’t believe I forget to include the most important point of all in my video, so I will start with it here. Clearly, this law was enacted as a result of lobbying. I am certain the groups representing the cell phone industry lobbied for this law, simply in order to sell “hands free” devices… along with the incentive to get people into cell phone stores where they could be encouraged to “upgrade.” Industry lobbying is the true reason behind most laws.

Furthermore, I made I a video back in June of 2008 explaining that the other reason for this law was simply to give police another excuse to pull people over. If anyone accuses the police of “racial profiling” the police can now simply claim that they observed the driver talking on a cell phone, sans hands free device.

“Lost Cops”

I made an observation recently while riding in the passenger seat on Interstate 80. The new law was largely being ignored. What’s worse, is that the people who were ignoring the law were now not only being distracted by their phone conversations, but also distracted by either trying to hold the phone in front of them (set to speaker, which by the way is not “hands free”) or watching their rear view mirror intently to see if an officer was coming up behind them.

This law is a complete failure. Ultimately people who are otherwise law abiding citizens are now turning their back on the law, and worst of all discovering that we are not being watched as closely as believed, which could, in turn, lead them to ignore more important laws that have a greater effect on our personal safety.

While it has long been rumored that Skull and Bones, the Yale secret society which counts several scions of the Bush family as members, holds the skull of legendary Apache warrior Geronimo, his descendants have taken action to uncover the truth.

Last week, on the 100th anniversary of Geronimos death, 20 members of his family filed a suit in a US federal court, asking that his spirit and physical remains, including his skull, be freed.

Tuesday morning, CNNs Debra Feyerick explored the suit, discussing an 1918 letter from a bonesman, discovered two years ago, which seems to indicate Geronimos skull is stored within the tomb where members hold meetings on Yales campus. The network also repeated allegations that deceased Senator Prescott Bush, father of President George H.W. Bush and grandfather to President George W. Bush, was one of the grave robbers.

Its been 100 years since the death of my great-grandfather in 1909. Its been 100 years of imprisonment, Geronimos great-grandson Harlyn Geronimo told reporters after the suit had been filed in the district court in Washington.

The spirit is wandering until a proper burial has been performed, Harlyn Geronimo said.

The suit, which names US President Barack Obama and Secretary of Defense Robert Gates among the defendants, seeks to free Geronimo, his remains, funerary objects and spirit from 100 years of imprisonment at Fort Sill, Oklahoma, the Yale University campus at New Haven, Connecticut and wherever else they may be found.

The remains would be returned to Geronimos wilderness birthplace in the western United States for a true Apache burial, a key facet of the native American tribes culture.

The only way to put this into closure is to release the remains, his spirit, so that he can be taken back to his homeland in the Gila Mountains, at the head of the Gila River, in what is today the state of New Mexico, Geronimos reported ancestor said.

Hopefully, the people we have named in our suit will take this seriously Hopefully, they will seriously consider our request to release the remains and perform a correct burial in the Gila wilderness, said Geronimo, stressing that the burial ritual is one of the most sacred rites in the Apache culture.

In addition to Obama and Gates, the complaint cites as defendants Army Secretary Pete Geren, Yale University, and the Order of the Skull and Bones, a secret society at Yale.

In around 1918, members of the Order of the Skull and Bones allegedly took Geronimos skull, other bones and items buried with him from the warriors tomb at Fort Sill. They are believed to still hold them at the organizations premises on the campus of Yale, a prestigious Ivy League university.

Harlyn Geronimo said he had written to George W. Bush to ask that his great-grandfathers remains be returned to his Apache homeland for burial, but never got a reply.

Geronimo died in 1909 at nearly 90 years of age at Fort Sill.

He had been held as a prisoner of war for more than 20 years after surrendering to the US military on the understanding he would be allowed to return to his homeland and people.

Skull and Bones, with all its ritual and macabre relics, was founded in 1832 as a new world version of secret student societies that were common in Germany at the time, reported CBS News. Since then, it has chosen or tapped only 15 senior students a year who become patriarchs when they graduate — lifetime members of the ultimate old boys club.

In 2004, both candidates for the presidency, George W. Bush and John F. Kerry, were reported to be members. The groups numbers include some of the most powerful men of the 20th century, according to CBS.

Skull and Bones is so tiny. Thats what makes this staggering, Alexandra Robbins, author of Secrets of the Tomb — an investigation of the secret society — told the network news service. There are only 15 people a year, which means there are about 800 living members at any one time.

Its a secret, John Kerry said when asked about his membership, reported Time magazine. So secret, I cant say anything more, George W. Bush wrote in his autobiography, as if to complete Kerrys sentence.

Yale says it does not have Geroimos remains and it does not speak for the secret society, reported CNN.

Yeah, retorted CNNs Deborah Feyerick. Well, there ya go. But, theyre looking into it. Technically, they could subpoena and see if anybody will say, yeah well, that happens to be the skull, but, unlikely.

Wikipedia purports to feature a list of Skull and Bones members, though the article lacks key citations and could not be verified.

A quick game I happened to lose of Empire: Total War Demo.

The only complaints I have about this game is that it loads very slow.
I might be waiting 5 minutes for the game to start up then anther 5-10 minutes for a game to start.
I hope they fix this in the final version.

I played this game at ultra settings at 1440 by 900. (HDR and DOF turned off)
My system specs are:
T-5550 CPU @ 1.83 GHz and 667 Fsb (Equivalent to a 2.8 Ghz PD)
8800m GTS at 600 Core and 925 Memory
4Gb of RAM

All the lag you see would be fixed by upgrading my CPU to a x7800 2.6 Ghz and 800 Fsb.

He seems to hone in on me almost every time he sees me with a camera. He thinks he is intimidating me, or what else would be the point of riding a circle around me on his motorcycle while making sarcastic remarks? However, I’m not getting intimidated, rather I’m getting fed up. This man is a liability to the public image of the Denver Police Department and he is a walking civil disaster in every sense of the description. I once got a still-photo shot of him cutting off a detainee’s oxygen in order to make him squirm so he could lie and say the man was resisting arrest. The picture I took helped get the false charges dropped and helped Tinnin’s victim to successfully sue the City of Denver over the incident, that Tinnin denies to this day even though several people witnessed it with video cameras running (this was a few years ago). It is undeniable in any court of law, and the courts themselves are the source for that information, and Tinnin still denies it.

This officer has been the subject of complaint so many times that Denver CopWatch can point him out almost immediately when he arrives on any scene, even when his face is covered. His behavior gives him away every time, and it doesn’t help that he intentionally seeks the attention of CopWatchers when he notices us. One time, during the DNC, he even walked right up, stuck a camera in my face and snapped a photo, then proceeded with his usual immaturity and belittlement of anyone he deems a critic of his police work (if you can call it that) by mouthing off to me and others CopWatching. In short, this officer appears to be incapable of self-control and I really don’t want to see what happens when he loses control all together. We only want professionals on our police force and this man is practically a living definition of term “unprofessional.”

If you happen to be CopWatching in Denver (all members of the public have the right to observe public servants on public property so don’t wait for us to show up, just start filming) and this particular officer approaches and starts baffling you with his alarmingly chauvinistic personality, especially his apparently pathological dishonesty (that throws anyone not expecting it totally off, it makes you want to turn and say – “what did you say…are you really a cop?” or “they actually let you carry a gun?”) whatever you do DON’T RESPOND TO HIM AND DON’T TALK TO HIM.

The reason why is exactly what you may assume by watching this video clip, namely that he is intentionally trying to provoke people when he talks to them like that. He said to me in this clip “school project?” in an attempt to belittle me and essentially piss me off or shake me up a bit, as you’ll notice he made the remark as he circled me on his motorcycle, obviously to see if he could get a reaction out of me … specifically one he can use as an excuse to take out his bottled up anger on me no doubt, and yes I’m implying that he would become very violent if he saw the chance. In fact, he told me once to my face, that same moment during the DNC out front of the Tabor Center at 16th Street Mall when he snapped a photo of me up close, that he would become ferociously violent against anyone, even an elderly person obviously as was the case with the man whose oxygen he cut off by holding his hand over his nose and mouth to make him squirm, if they so much as brushed up against him lightly.

For purposes of safety it is important to have more than one camera and more than one person while CopWatching, so that is especially true when you’re observing Jared T. Tinnin of the Denver Police Department, District Six, Motorcycle Unit.
