Beyonce has postponed a concert in Malaysia following complaints by conservative Muslims that the show would be “immoral” and promote “Western sexy performances”.
Show organiser Marctensia confirmed the move yesterday but denied bowing to pressure from the Pan-Malaysian Islamic Party, insisting the move was “solely (the) decision of the artist and has nothing to do with other external reasons”.
Rules state female artists at Malaysian concerts must cover up from shoulder to knee, with no cleavage on show. Beyonce cancelled a Malaysia gig in 2007 after the same party threatened protests.

A Miami radio station broadcast Tuesday a recording of a heated discussion Colombian rocker Juanes had with Cuban authorities a few hours before his concert “Peace Without Borders” in Havana.
In the recording, Juanes complained about the constant surveillance he had been under since his arrival Friday.
“This is it, we’re leaving now! We’re very angry, very angry, very angry. We came here to sing to the young people of Cuba, and that’s why we are here. But we’ve encountered strong obstacles, and this is it!” Juanes is heard saying in the recording. The discussion took place in front of the lobby elevators of the Hotel Nacional, where the singer was staying.
“ I just noticed that the person that brings me breakfast and drives my taxi also showed up at the concert, and now he’s there behind us, taking notes,” Juanes added. “I don’t want to go back to my room.”
The argument, El Nuevo Herald reported, came to an end when Puerto Rican singer Olga Tañon took Juanes by the arm and pulled him away from the elevators. That’s when Tañon told him him that he had to follow through with the concert because of his commitment to Cuban youth.

Playboy model Anissa Holmes’ Facebook page was yanked suddenly. Holmes says she can’t access the photographs she posted on her Facebook profile, and Facebook won’t return the pictures.
In an email sent to Holmes, Facebook said that they blocked her because she violated the rules and posted racy pictures that involved nudity and sexual content.
Holmes shared an email she had received from Facebook a day after the company pulled her profile. The email said
“Please note that nudity and other sexually explicit content is not allowed on the site. Additionally, we do not allow users to send messages that are sexually suggestive, or that other users may find harassing in nature. We will not be able to reactivate your account for any reason. This decision is final.”
Holmes told the media that she had 3,000 ‘friends’ and over 8,000 people had signed up to her fan page and claimed the loss of contacts had “greatly damaged her modelling and acting career.” Holmes said she had posted around 300 pictures of herself and family.
Given that reports are now coming to the public that increasingly employers are blocking their employees access to social networking sites, it is possible that Holmes’ claims of damage to her career might be premature. A person only needs a Facebook identity to be able to “interact” with playmates, such as Dutch Playmates.
Holmes has apparently received legal advice to file a complaint against Facebook with the Federal Privacy Commissioner because Facebook’s withholding of the photographs is a potential violation of Canadian privacy laws.
Holmes said that she did not have nudity or sexually explicit photographs on her Facebook profile. She also said that while she received many lewd emails from men, she herself never sent any messages that were sexually explicit or harassing to other people. Holmes has 110,000 websites associated with a search based on her name.

Ratings were up 10% from last year, and polls indicate that viewers of the Oscars last night mostly enjoyed the telecast and would like Hugh Jackman back to host next year. So why am I still harping on the negatives? Well, no matter how many entertaining elements of the ceremony people remind me of, I have to argue that while the awards themselves were great, the television show was not. And unfortunately, I was not inside the Kodak auditorium where I might have better appreciated the things we all at home should have been able to appreciate. And anything I found entertaining from where I sat in my apartment was pretty much thanks to talented presenters and winners
The 2009 Academy Awards are over and done with, and now it’s time to talk trash about EVERYONE! Was it a good year? Did Hugh Jackman succeed as host? How did they make out on length — did you fall asleep? What was up with those weird line-up presentations? And who got more camera time –

There aren’t enough seriously goodlooking men out there, except Steve Carell.
Steve Carell is a very attractive man, and he know’s it.
Where are all the other Steve’s?
I’m seriously worried that Hollywood is running out of hotties.
All I can say is…. thank God for Steve Carell!
Without such beautiful men like Steve gracing primetime television comedies and hilarious movies,
I truly believe the world would be a very unhappy and unhilarious place.
I mean, come on, no one elese can rock a randomly waxed chest like Steve can.
Seriously.
